CHS Students Sweep Writing Contest!
816 contestants from 12 high schools competed in the Pierce County Arts Commission regional writing contest. CHS came away with more prizes than any other school. CHS swept the 11-12 fiction writing: Tommy Slack 1st; Nate Shelden 2nd; Will Firch 3rd; Joel Kim won 9-10 fiction writing; Nate Shelden won 11-12 poetry.

Washington State Honor Awardees
Since the Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction began recognizing outstanding high school graduates in 2000, 33% of our graduating seniors have been honored as Washington State Honor Awardees (seniors who rank in the top 10% in the state based on GPA and college entrance exam scores.)
